A few pics from last night's Queen concert!

I'm finally back from my trip to see the amazing "Queen and Paul Rodgers" in concert last night. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen. My ears are still ringing and my arms are still aching from all the arm waving and clapping that is customary when singing along to anthems such as "Radio Ga Ga" and "We Are The Champions".

I will write a full post or two about the past two days soon. In the mean time, as a little taster, here are some of the photographs that I took last night.

Warmest wishes,

Graham x

  1. Ahh....I can hear the music from across the pond. And I love the "fog" shots. Thanks for sharing...what was your favorite number of the night?

  2. You must have had GREAT seats, the images are fabulous. I'm also surprised they let you in with a camera. Yay for QUEEN!!! :D

  3. Thanks Mimi! That is an easy question for me to answer, "Love of my life" is my favourite song sung live. It is an emotional song anyway, but to hear it sung by thousands of voices always brings a tear to my eye.

Thanks Chica, I was right up at the very front. It was standing room only, so it was a bit cramped...lol! It was darned hot in there too! But I am pleased with how the photographs came out!

  4. lookinh forward to seeing them 'tonight' in Brum. Last time I saw them was at THE Knebworth gig.
Just wondering what camera you use for such good live shots.

  5. Thanks Geoffrey! You'll love the show, it was fantastic although will never be the same without Freddie. Paul Rodgers has a great voice. Brian and Roger are still as amazing as ever! I used a Canon G9 for these shots - set on an ISO of 200. I didn't use the flash as it picked up too many particles in the air. It might be worth trying a few at 400 ISO to see if they come out sharper. I lost a few through being too blurred.

Once again I hope you have a great time, and it is well worth queueing early so that you can get up to the front!!!! Let me know how it goes and I'd love to see your photos!!

  6. OMG...what fabulous shots hun. I was just talking to a friend of mine from UK about the new Queen's album release, and I asked him how it was possible without Freddy, but turns out, Paul Rogers is doing well as a replacement. Glad to see you had a great time hun. That band is a FREAKIN' legend (lol).

BTW....love the new look of your blog. It's quite classy :)

  8. one of my favorite bands! At least with Mercury but their music lives on. Great pics, bet it was lots of fun. Was it an indoor or outdoor stadium? You look really close, or is that a telephoto lens? :)

Btw he's got enough zippers on those pants to store a lot of change!

  11. What about Bohemian Rhapsody!?!?!? I would go nuts if I saw them play that song live......heck, I got nuts when that song just comes on the radio. It's so fun to sing!

I really love your shot with the 'fog'. I encourage you to try some curve adjustments on that shot, it would make it so mysterious, and dramatic.

Glad you had a good time :o)

  15. fantastic!

I would love to hear "We Are the Champions" live. It brings back lots of fond memories of chilly ice arenas and screaming hockey fans.

    Hiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!

These are increcile photos, all of them, I especially liked the 3rd and 5th ones down. They are album covers. WOW!! I can picture you there gyrating around!!!:) :)

I wanted to tell you that your photography just keeps getting better and better and better. I can't believe it. It was stellar right from the git go, but something in it that I can't put my finger on is taking it to another level, way beyond "just" photography, to an energtic level where the photos seem "ALVE". It's pretty powerful, Graham. I am going to check out your gallery.

You're in my thoughts you little beettle bottom!!! LOL LOL :) :)

Poor sincere, kindhearted Graham getting picked on by the evil RainforestRobin!!! LOL

    Hugs and love,
    Your "forever friend",
    Robin :)
